I have this white satin shirt and tie, and i'v accidently drenched it with wine... someone suggested dry clean, others said no. its a special gift and i want it to remain new always... can anyone suggest how to maintain and clean satin clothing without losing its luster and vibrance?

First of all the satin shine is from the slick finish of the thread you break the finish and you loose the shine. so Don't harshly rub, wash, or dry with a spin cycle. Soak the garment in a mild soap such as Woolite. You could use Oxy Clean to remove the wine stain. then gently squeeze the water out and rinse with fresh water squeezing each time and never twisting. when clean hang on hanger dripping wet in shower or tub to dry. lightly press with cool setting to get out any wrinkles. One last hint to keep the shoulders from having points in them pad the hanger with hand towels or wash cloths between the hanger and garment at the shoulders.
