Introducing viruses is illegal under the computer misuse act 1990 Chapter 18, so if they get caught they will be charged.

Unless the virus is high-profile i.e. is destructive enough to attract media attention it is unlikely the writer will be caught, (as there are so many viruses with new ones being introduced every day).

And yes I agree they should be severly punished.

As with a CURE FOR CANCER( which you will never see because cancer treatment and research has become a major part of the economy) any laws to stop the Virus producers will never happen. Computer Security is a milti-billion dollar business and politicians will do nothing to hurt that part of the economy.

Yes, they should be charged and sentenced the same as a home burglary. And be registered with IP services as a registered thief.

They should because it is corrupting our systems and it is illegal. They shouldnt invade privacy of others, how would you like it if a hacker hacked in your computer, stole your grandmothers baking recipies and posted them online and sold them and became rich? Would you feel like he shouldnt be punished? lol

Yeah, they should be torn into little pieces and buried alive!
Seriously, it's a crime, so why shouldn't they be punished?
