For a British passport with "endorsed British citizen" , visa is not required for Taiwan for a stay of up to 30 days provided your
arrival must be at CKS Airport or Kaohsiung Airport and you have
no criminal record.
For Bali, you need a visa and can obtain it on arrival but you must have at least US$1,000 or credit card and a return ticket.

We were there in January last year and I am sure that we paid a visa entry of $10 US dollars (I think) I am not sure if it makes a difference coming in from Taiwan as we flew in from Melbourne - I am sure your travel agent can help or look at the Bali online site. Have a great time - we did beautiful Island, beautiful people.

I guess you are asking if you need a visa for Taiwan, not Bali? Anyway, no, you don't need one for Taiwan. Indonesia you do but you get it on arrival.

Yes you do for Bali, but as a Brit, you can get Visa on Arrival, so you don't really have to worry about it until you get there.

Yes you will need a visa even though it's only one day I would think. Double check with the Chinese Embassy what their criteria are.
