Apparently the Governor at the Staffordshire jail has received over 50 complaints from both white and non-Muslim black prisoners about the preferential treatment accorded to Muslims. **** also points out that at Christmas Muslims prisoners get to share the celebratory food traditionally served at that Christian festival but non-Muslims don't get to share the special food associated with Ramadan.
He also tells us that this practice is in operation in all jails, not just Featherstone.

redlevere. i do not ant to get into a debate about god and who should iherite the world, what a totally nosenical answer.
thier is no god, just us and the life we should make the most of.

This is PC gone potty.
This also shows how deeply British society has been affected by this 'cancer'.

My view is that this is Political Correctness gone 'potty'.

i'm really surprised at this. i absolutely think it should be the same for all and not just about Muslims, christians, Jews, getting special treatment on their respective religious days, but about marking the occasion by treating eveyrone - otherwise what about the atheists? that way everyone gets to learn and understand and not be bitter. this scheme is just what sparks off tension. but i wouldnt blame the muslims - who is funding this? I know that every ramadan and in the lead up to it, there is a massive fundraising campaign to support Muslims in prison. raises lots. One thing that is central to Islam is charity - more so during ramadan. i know that last year an organisation actually had to ask people to STOP sending moeny (i think it was £5/10) bcos they had enough to provide gifts/food for every muslim prisoner. why dont other faith groups take that initiave?
i think we need to find out who is funding these bright ideas before we make judgements.
as for jobsdun's rant, you'll probably find that most muslims couldn't give a toss about pigs heads in butchers or any of the other business - its the PC brigade who think they know whats best for Muslims, old folk, the mentally ill, physically handicpped and our kids at school. don't know who they are but they never consult the people they talk on behalf of - dont get taken in by the propoganda...

I'm totally disgusted by the way that this country is going at the moment.I'm starting to feel like a second class citizen in my own country.
If people want to live over here then they should live by our rules and accept our way of life.
This is another example of what is happening: A while ago a young white lad was snatched ,beaten and set on fire by a couple of asian lads.This only made a small article in a local newspaper.
If the victim had been asian and was killed by some white lads then this would've been called a racist attack and would've been all ovet the tabloids.
I'm certainly no racist but I'm appalled by how how the white people nowadays are being treated.

Well, you can't blame the Muslims themselves for this state of affairs....to be honest, maybe they deserve this special food/extra phone credit treats, but if so, so do any Christian prisoners....it seems to me that the people causing divisiveness in our society are the politically correct brigade, not the minorities themselves...

No, they shouldn't yet this an increasing variety of turning out to be ordinary. different prisoners faith isn't substantial with reference to the way they're dealt with so why muslims? Who will preserve the proposed muslim basically jails and how many greater concessions would be predicted on the grounds of religion? The greater we appease them the weaker they think approximately us and the greater concessions they call for. i'm ill of it, to date as i'm worried the only particular medical care they could get is deportation.

Perhaps, due to the horribly unfair treatment most Muslims have recieved in this country since 911, it is about time we turned the tables and treated them to "something special". Through all the tortures they have endured, they have remained strong in thier faith and deserve recognition and special treatment for thier devout discipline!!!!
Many Christians, while they are always glad to participate in "Christian Holidays" such as Christmas or Easter, may never practice thier faith throughout the year.
Muslims are a devout people, disciplined and strong in faith. They spend much of thier lives in faithful service to ALLAH. They are always concerned about prayer, services, cleansing, how they are dressed (modesty), how they eat etc.
Christians, often do not devote so much time and effort to what they believe.
While I am a Christian, I can honestly say I have an Immense respect and admiration for Muslims and thier dedication of thier lives to ALLAH. They are a very unselfish people, giving up what Christians partake in every day.
Tell me, who will inherit the Kingdom?

I may be wrong but I see this as a trend that will be embraced and perpetuate by non-Muslim leaders and "do gooders" in an attempt to pander, to appease or simply to be politically correct until such time as the last non-Muslim is having his head surgically removed with a dull knife.
I'm sorry but I think we are going to loose this one.

Typical, their religion gets them what they want in this country, even in prison. They are in prison for breaking the law (and I bet 99.9999999% of Muslims in prison are there for fraud) so all niceties should be withdrawn.
Next they'll be building Mosque's next to every prison.
Ridicolous, and they wonder why English people don't like them, how would they like it if we invaded their country and took the piss out of it.

ooh dont rile me with this.. i was never racist but recently the bitterness i have been feeling towards other religions in britain have been severe. your right at xmas our british inmates would hardly get an extra brussel sprout never mind a pound on theyre phone cards, they are getting everything going, houses, benefits etc, if we were criminals in theyre country we would probably be executed. would they give you an extra pound to call home to say it was your last day ,lol,,, they are all taking advantage of our good nature in this country and it will only continue to get worse.
