I had dis pal named Jeffrey that I had met since I was in school via ICQ. I live in the caribbean, he lives in the US.
We have never ever met but we used to call each other alot.
At one point in time I think I was in love with him but I eventually realised that the element of mystery is what kept it.
It's been six years now
We're still pretty good friends and he looks out for me and vice versa.
He'll always send me an email or call me up to see how I'm doing now but this is a friendship that I really am proud of having.
Some long distance friends can prove to be valuable.
I had met some guy... I think his name was Nigel as well and when we first decided to meet, I mean he was nice over the phone and via the internet but goodnes, after we got the pizza he tried to jump my bones.
We never spoke again.
Internet friends are nice to have if you all established that you can only be friends.
Most times, most people are surfing the net just looking for another sexual fantasy and real friends don't treat each other like that.

I had several friends from Yahoo chat years ago but we lost touch because events in my life changed. I still email them now and again, but I don't go into chat anymore. I have one friend I met online 4 years ago, we only met once but we talk every week now and email quite a bit as he moved out of state. My boyfriend and I met online, started out as friends for almost 6 months before we became "an item". We now live together and life is good with his boy and my son. It's hard to trust people in general and add the computer screen to it makes it harder because it's easy to type whatever you want on the screen.

For awhile I had friends through AOL. There was a local chat room for where I lived that had weekend parties and I went to them, and then I met some close friends and we started to hang out together outside of those parties and went to movies and did other things. One friend I was friends with for 8 years before I decided she was using me (long story) for her own gain and I decided to quit talking to her which was hard for me to do, but I have since moved to Atlanta, GA and have made some good friends out here, and haven't looked back on that life at all, though it served its purpose for the time I needed it. =)
