we were brought up jw,s and to be honest i hated it,,we were always invited to these 'do,s',where children were seen and not heard, were fun was formalized and you have no opinion other than what you were told,,my family took us kids to one couples home who were perfect as you can guess,,the hostess offered me mushroom quiche which at 7 yrs old,,i declined as back then i considered it vile,,she told my mum i was insolent and i should be grateful,,for some strange reason when i went to the loo i stole her husbands gold sovereign ring,no idea why,put it in my pocket and carried on as if nothing had happened,,later that week my mum had a phone call stating what was missing and of course i denied all,,until she washed my clothes and found it in my pocket, the shame brought on by my my actions for my mum was terrible to watch and she didnt live it down for a good many years,,,suffice to say i didnt steal again,,BUT,,we were,nt invited there again either,,so even though what i did was tacky and wrong,,there are silver linings everywhere you look,,,,,,oo the shame.

I put a clothes pin on my beloved cat's tail. I was never caught but I suffered almost as much as she did and certainly longer. Thank God my sister's friend was able to get it off her before she hurt herself.
