My opinion would be to until after the baby is born. There is always the possibility of something going wrong until that time. It's difficult to fathom such a hing, but the truth is one never really knows. If you have someone in mind, and I would think that this is someone who is already near and dear to you that they would accept n matter the timing of the question, but I think it's best to wait.

I would think that you should ask them before. Aren't godparents supposed to be the ones to take care of your children if something should happen to you and your spouse? I would definitely ask them before the birth.

Doesn't matter... however the decision is usually made after the birth and before the christening. Most babies are christened about 6-10 wks after birth. You have time either way.

Before or after it's really up to you. If you have someone in mind who you feel strongly about you could ask them before but if your stuck between two you could wait until after the baby is born.

I would do it right after the birth - and make sure you have back up people in case they don't want to (I certainly wouldn't want to!)

Before. Give them more time to think about it. If they turn you down, don't feel bad about it.

I think I would wait until the baby is a few months old, to see whether or not they are comfortable with your child, and would make good parents.
