Everyone is different. I have a 28 day cycle and I ovulate on day 11. My friend has a 33 day cycle and she ovulates on day 18. IF you want to know when you ovulate...you can buy the ovulation predictor kids...or you can study your body for subtle changes.(like elevated temperature, ovulation pain(not all women get this) cervical mucus change) Keep track of the changes for 6 months..you should notice a pattern.

Textbooks say on average about 14-16 days before your expected period, but it really varies from person to person. If you want to know when you ovulated, the best method I've found is charting your basal body temperature. Check out fertilityfriend.com. It will not only inform you how to chart your temps, but you can chart them for free on their web-site. The web-site also has valuable information about other ovulation signs you can look for. I personally didn't have very good luck with ovulation kits, but you can try them also.

You must count the days of your cycle, the 1st day of menstration being day1. Count the days till your next cycle, usually around 28 days. You ovulate somewhere between day 11-16. There are sites to better help you understand ovulation signs

I have figured out when I do by charting my basal body temp. You do it for a month and when it elevates thats when. If you do the count, it is from the first day of your period, I have a 12 day luneal phase so I count 12 days and then back 5. Those 5 days are when we start trying, more emphasis on the last 3. HTH

Most women ovulate 12-16 days before their period, and within individual women, this rarely fluctuates by more than a day.
