Bringing in outside counsel for a criminal trial is rarely in the best interest of a defendant.

Local criminal defense attorneys are familiar with the police tactics, the habits of the judges and prosecutors, and the procedural quirks of the local court.

You sound like one of many people who are convinced that local attorneys are somehow "in cahoots" with the police, etc. I think you perhaps have too high an expectation.

An attorney from any other state would need to either be licensed in Oklahoma, or would have to be admitted to practice in Oklahoma pro hace vice (temporarily) and would have to associate with an Oklahoma attorney. This would cause you additional money, and wouldn't necessarily give you better representation.

If you still insist on representation from some other state, you might want to consult attorneys on a border state: Texas, Kansas or Arkansas. Many attorneys who are close to Oklahoma are often licensed in both states and might be interested in accepting your case.

Without knowing more details, its impossible to give you better suggestions. For referrals in a border state, contact the state bar associations of those states and they can give you a referral.
