I got back to the UK from Sharm El Sheikh 1am friday morning. I have never been so depressed after returning from a holiday in my life. The place is amazing.. I fell in love instantly. We stayed at the Dreams Vacation Resort. Ras Mohammed wasn't one of the places we went, but I met a few who had been. The diving anywhere is breathtaking. But it costs about £120 including transport etc. Book with your rep, as the freelancers aren't very honest. You will see some amazing things, I'm jealous. Make sure you visit Naama Bay, and OLd Sharm (the Market) and Cleo Park is worth it (Waterpark) Have fun, its great!

Me and my boyfriend got back from sharm el sheikh on the 24th Sept. It was fantastic. Make sure you take enough suncream and aftersun coz it's very very hot!! The best thing to do id ask your rep. You will have a meeting with him or her when you get there or the following morning. He will be able to answer all your questions. He will have a booklet with a full list of excusions and the best diving centre's where you are staying. The diving and snorkelling is amazing. We went snorkelling everyday. They do something called Dolphinella. You basically get to swim with dolphins for half an hour. It cost about £80 but is so much cheaper than doping it in America and well worth the money. At night time go into Naama Bay. It's brilliant. They're have Hard Rock cafe and they have a delicious chinese which is up some steps. Hope you have a lovely time.

go quad biking in the desert its wicked! can do daytime or see hte sun go down! dinner in the desert!
there are wicked boat trips, horse riding along the beach.
cairo is cool long day though.
diving most places have PADI and diving centres, not sure what the regs are for diving over there, you might have to be in the country a certain amount of time and what not investigate when you get there.
snorkelling is free though!
can get the masks etc out there dirt cheap.
loved it over there, hot and friendly be warned if you leave the resort you WILL get bothered. Pyramids was the worst they get quite pushy best to be strong you get used to it and be warned if they give you something in your hand they want money for it... even if they say its a free gift... give it back! else you will get called a thief and get hassled by lots of people.
dont foget your diarolite, you will need it adn drinks tonnes of water not tap water! good luck , im jealous! wonderful place!

i was in Ras Mohammad, and it's AMAZING, what you will see undewater you'll never see some place else.
from sharm (wherever you are staying) you can arrange that with the hotel to take you, or you can ask some Taxi driver to take you, if you know thr price of the hotel, you can always bargain for a better price with a taxi, he ca take you there and wait for you till you finish. all the equipment can be rented from the diving spot.
Have a great vacation

Sharm el-Sheikh (شرم الشيخ, also transliterated as Sharm ash Shaykh), often known simply as "Sharm", is a city situated on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, in Janub Sina', Egypt, on the coastal strip between the Red Sea and Mount Sinai.

Sharm el-Sheikh is the administrative hub of Egypt's Southern Sinai province which includes the smaller coastal towns of Dahab and Nuweiba as well as the mountainous interior, Saint Catherine's Monastery and Mount Sinai. Sharm el-Sheikh is known as The City of Peace referring to the large number of international peace conferences that have been held there.

A hierarchical planning approach was adopted for the Gulf of Aqaba, whereby their components were evaluated and subdivided into zones, cities and centers. In accordance with this approach, the Gulf of Aqaba zone was subdivided into four cities: Taba, Nuweiba, Dahab and Sharm El-Sheikh. Sharm El-Sheikh city has been subdivided into five homogeneous centers namely: Nabq, Ras Nusrani, Naama Bay, Umm Sid and Sharm El Maya. Tourism industry in Sharm El-Sheikh is considered the core of development. The development in the city offers an exclusive world of luxury and elegance. A fantasy world of space and style is there comprising glamorous low density resorts, exclusive sports' facilities, unparalleled food courts and shopping centers. The land plan shows that the total area of Sharm El-Sheikh is expected to be about 42 km², in the year 2017. This area is designed to include:

Tourism resorts 08.4%
Tourism Facilities 40.9%
Green & Open areas 12.3%
Social Services 09.9%
Roads 12.2%
Urban Housing 13.7%
Bedouin Housing 01.6%
Hand crafts & small industries 01.0%
Before 1967, Sharm el-Sheikh was little more than an occasional base of operations for local fishermen; the nearest permanent settlement was in Nabk, north of Ras el-Nasrani ("The Tiran Straits"). Commercial development of the area began during the Israeli presence in the area. The Israelis built the town of Ofira overlooking Sharm el-Maya Bay, and the Nesima area, and opened the first tourist-oriented establishments in the area six kilometers north at Naama Bay. These included a marina hotel on the southern side of the bay, a nature field school on the northern side, diving clubs, a now well-known promenade, and the Naama Bay Hotel.

After the Sinai was restored to Egypt in 1982, the Egyptian government embarked on an initiative to encourage continued development of the city. Foreign investors - some of whom had discovered the potential of the locality during the Israeli occupation - contributed to a spate of building projects. Environmental zoning laws currently limit the height of buildings in Sharm el-Sheikh so as to avoid obscuring the natural beauty of the surroundings.

The city has played host to a number of important Middle Eastern peace conferences, including the September 4, 1999 agreement to restore Palestinian self-rule over the Gaza Strip. A second summit was held at Sharm on October 17, 2000 following the outbreak of the second Palestinian intifada, but it failed to end the violence. A summit was held on August 3, 2005 in this city on developments in the Arab world such as the situation in Iraq and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Average temperatures during the winter months (November to March) range from 15 to 35 degrees centigrade and during the summer months (April to October) from 20 to 45 degrees centigrade. The temperature of the Red Sea in this region ranges from 21 to 28 degrees centigrade over the course of the year.

SCUBA and Water Sports
Sharm al Sheikh has also become a favourite spot for Scuba divers from around the world. Being situated near to the Red Sea, it provides some of the most stunning underwater scenery and warm water making this an ideal place to dive.Visitors of Sharm El-Sheikh can experience a variety of water and activities. Beach seekers find enormous activities such as diving, snorkeling, wind surfing, , pare sailing, banana boats, and canoes.
