If you actually want to figure it out, use your Latitude & Longitude location and find the 180 degree difference...

You'd need some force to push a pin through the planet as gravity would start to act against you once the pin passed through the centre point of the earth. Plus it gets kinda steamy down there, it would be one hell of a pin! :)

You are not that far from the Greenwich Meridian, so if you look at a globe, you will find that the opposite side of the Earth is the International Date Line at 180°. 60° south is in the further reaches of the Pacific Ocean, getting close to the Antarctic continent.

Im not sure you'd get a pin that big, and if you did it would probably melt by the time you got to the core of the earth.

i wish i was in scotland...what you can do is take a globe apart and align scotland on the top of the globe where the north pole would be...what ever country is on the south pole is your answer.
I had a friend tell me Madagascar is directly opposite Southern California, but I never checked it out.

Go to Google. Earth.com. Find your location Lats Longs, It will be something like XXX deg W and XX deg N. Just change the bearing to XXXdeg E and XX deg S. This will take you to a point opposite where you are.

Go to Googl earth and look it up with coordinates.

Scotland is approx 55deg north and 10 deg west, so look for 55 deg south 170 deg east and there you are.
