First, I hope you have alot of fun on your trip. I am leaving for Las Vegas tonight. My sister and I go all the time and we are not gamblers ourselves. We tend to go to Sam's Town. If you go downtown to one of the hotels, I think the California I believe and others and you can get on one of the charter buses for free to go there. We go there for movies, dinner and pictures. WE are also going over to Ethel M's Chocolates for a free tour and free taste testing. You can also go to see the catcus tour there. If you check out the little flyers that have some tours in it, there are some that you can do starting around $12.00. I hope this helps, but there is alot to see like the outlet malls if you are a shopper. If you would like to see a free circus show, head over to the Circus Circus or check out the animal attractions at the New York New York or other hotels. Again, I hope this helps.

Things to do in Las Vegas (some are free some are not):
See the fountains at night at the Bellagio.
Tour the Wynn property (try to catch the animatronic/light show at night).
Cocktails at night on the observation deck at either the Ghost Bar (at the Palm Casino) or from the VooDoo Lounge (at the Rio Casino) both have incredible views!
Window shop at the Forum of Shops at Caesar's Palace.
Check out the following casinos, all are pretty incredible:
Venetian
Paris
Mandalay Bay
New York, New York
Last but not least....go downtown for the "old school" Las Vegas and check out the Fremont Street Experience.
Last thought to share....Las Vegas is not as cheap as it used to be. The cost for dining and entertainment has gone up considerably over the last ten years. If you are not a "high roller," don't expect any comps.

One of the things that we did and really enjoyed was going downtown for the light show. Its a few blocks long and over a million lights that show stories or pictures to music. It is amazing to watch and see how its done. It starts as soon as it gets dark and is a quick trip by cab.
We also did the free shos...like the pirates fight at Treasure Island and the water show in front of the Bellagio. We also just walked through some of the Hotels, they are very interesting and each one has something going on. And of course we drove to the Hoover Dam which I feel is a must !!! Have a GREAT TRIP !!!!

A lot of it depends on how much money your willing to spend. A great free activity is to check at the fountain show at the Bellagio in the evening. Also, the big top at Circus Circus and strolling through The Venetian and Caesars Palace are nice. The roller coaster on top of the Stratosphere hotel is an amazing thrill, it's $16 for the trip up the tower and the coaster. They have two other rides which cost extra but I haven't been on them. If you can afford it, try to take in a show. Two of my favorites are the Blue Man Group and O by Cirque de Soleil.

i have been to hoover dam and it is great, but it is really not worth the full day you would lose. something i would definitely see on my second trip, but not my first.
make sure you take a look at all the hotels, inside and out. visit all of the shops. not necessarily to go shopping, but they are all amazing. extra things to do besides just looking around are...
-take a gondola ride at the venetian
-watch the mirage volcanoes explode at night
-visit madame tussaud's wax museum at the venetian
-catch the pirate show at treasure island
-visit the dolphin exhibit and the lion habitat at the mirage
-go to carnival court at harrah's and see the flair bartenders
-watch the fountains at the bellagio at night and during the day
-check out the statues at caesar's in the forum shops
-go to the top of the eiffel tower at paris
-see the rain exhibit at aladdin in the shops
-go to the free lion habitat at mgm
-check out shark reef at mandalay bay
if you have time after doing all of this, then head downtown and check out freemont street, maybe take in a show. blue man group and penn & teller are my two favorites. the cirque de soleil shows are awesome too. i would skip zumanity, just never thought it was as good as the others. also, if you like to go out at night, check out pure and the pussy cat dolls show. it is in caesar's. and last, but not least, go to a bookstore and buy the book "las vegas". it is in the travel section and is by either frommer's or fodor's. they both make good ones. these books have absolutely everything you could possibly do in vegas, and it is broken up by chapters, so you can find everything very easy. have fun!!!
