we've been close for like years.. he's cute and all.. but I really don't feel anything for him.. just brotherly love.. my heart doesn't flip when he's around or anything.. and for the past days.. he's been sending me signs that he likes me.. you know what guys do when they like you.. well. that is what he's doing to me.. I'm really sad cause he risked our friendship.. I think we'll never be as close as before now that he admitted it.. but he's still courting even though I said that I don't have feelings for him.. what should I do??

I have had boyfriends in the past that I had that flip heart feeling and I became involved with a guy that I feel like best friends with. I love him dearly, the sexual attraction is there, i don't feel all nervous if he doesn't call and I feel like this is the best relationship that I have ever had. I know he would not hurt me, like cheat, because he knows me so well. We talk like friends would. We tell each other things you wouldn't usually tell your boyfriend. I believe this is the one I'll spend the rest of my life with. It feels so good not to have all that flippy stuff going on. Maybe you should give it a try with your friend to see how it feels for you. If he is truly your friend a failed attempt at a romantic relationship should not hurt your current relationship with him. The way I feel now with this guy feels like it is a true adult relationship not school girl stuff. Good-luck in whatever you decide!

Yes, I do imagine your hurting inside, and afraid of losing the friendship.

Women, and men do respond differently to rejection.

Women if rejected when they tell someone they love them, take it straight to the heart, and usually run far away from the man.

Men on the other hand seem to handle the rejection more at face value. It's not that you don't love them, or want to be their friend; it's just you aren't in love with them.

Sit him down, explain it point blank!

The friendship can withstand this, and be even stronger it's just going to take some good honest communication, and healing time for both of you.

Tell him straight. It wont help get you back to what it was, but it will set you on the path to it if you work hard on it.

I liked a super close girl buddy as well 2 years back, she was interested but our friendship was just that meaningful. It was weird for 4-5 months but now we're tighter than ever. :)

welcome to the club. If you treat every guy the same way you treat this one, they'll all fall in love with you.
