thing is social work in the sense not by donating money...may be physically...im really want to do something...since i'm in college hostel it becomes difficult. is there any site to contact to get me one of the servicer??

what a wonderful young man you are! think about what type of help you would like to offer the universe - people (children, women, elderly, abused, etc), animals, environment. once you decide on the area you would like to focus your time in, google (lets say you want to help animals and you live in seattle) animals, volunteer, seattle. this will give you a listing of all the opportunities that await you.
you have a wonderful spirit and are an example for the rest to follow. my son has been doing volunteer work since before he started school (and myself also). helping others unselfishly is the most rewarding experience you can have. keep on giving my friend - you totally rock dude!

Just do it.
Start by keeping the hostel and college ground clean.
Go to hospital and talk to administrator see if you can help out with directing people to correct place in the hospital.
Some Police department have volunteers answering the phone on holly days.
Talk to college authorities to see what they need done. Then volunteer your services. On admission day you can guide the people.
Old focks homes always are looking for the volunteers.

1) Look at the things within your vicinity that needs improvement like uncleaned area on road, street lights not working, bad condition of roads, dug up road is unattended, etc.
2) Place a request to PIO (Public Information Officer) by filling up a form under RTI act (Right To Information Act). This will help you to know why this problem exists, who is responsible for this problem & what should be done to solve this problem.You will get the information within a month from PIO.
3) Keep follow-up. ( This may not be required. RTI Act takes care of follow up).
Only you need to do is identify the problem & fill up a form. The system takes care of everything.
Believe me, this is very simple & easy method for youngsters like us.

It is a laudable feeling, seldom witnessed in the college students of these days. I suggest that you contact organisations like Udavum karangal, Banyan, Ramakrishna Mission who utilise your services in their mission. You may try to do it on your own, by helping the poor and helping the children from poor families in their studies. May your tribe increase.

Wonderful idea.
If you mean using your vigour to contribute to the world, start from your premises.
You can mobilise like minded people and start cleaning your area.
Or if you want to take it up as a profession, do MSW and you can place yourself in a better position to serve the humanity.

Start from where u are....
look at your place...keep it clean
look at your neighbour ...help him study
look at your institution...help the librarian arrange books.....help the Pt master arrange the PT room...
Go to the closest Hospital /clinic talk to the doctors about this
.....the list is endless.
