Heres just some of the classics I couldn't go without:

Darkside of the Moon- Pink Floyd
Wish you were here- Pink Floyd
Solid Air- John Martyn
O- Damien Rice
Red- King Crimson
Up- Peter Gabriel
The Inner Mounting Flame- Mahavisnu Orchestra
Bitches Brew- Miles Davis

If I had of died before hearing the Mahavisnu Orchestra I'd well be enquiring about reincarnation right now!

That is an extremely personal choice, but some recommendations are The Beatles: Abbey Road (which is actually the LAST album they ever recorded), Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon - and - The Wall. Beethoven's 5th, 7th, and 9th Symphonies. Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland, and several others. The Who Live at Leeds and the "Tommy" double-album. Peter Frampton Comes Alive. I know this is older stuff, but its what I'm familiar with. Ultimately though, the choices should be up to you. One things for certain though: you've got plenty of choices!
