Hey Im organising some activites for children to participate in during the xmas hols, I need some craft activites that they can take part in, some unusual or orignal ones would be really appricated as dont wanna just get the kids to make xmas cards. Im trying to get away from the xmas theme and the activities should last about 10mins without the kids getting bored. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks Oh yeah kids are aged from 2-14yrs!

You can make a modeling clay from apple sauce and cinnamon, there are recipes on the internet but I just mix inexpensive cinnamon ( from the craft store) with the apple sauce until it makes a nice dough like consistancy. Roll it out and cut it with cookie cutters, use raised stamps on cut out shapes, use cloves to decorate or use molds. Be sure to put a hole in them for hanging. Dry them near a heater vent ( takes a few days) and not only will you have ornaments that will last years but while they are drying your house will smell wonderful.

Tie-dying t-shirts! It's great fun, not very expensive, and you get something cool at the end of it. My mum used to run Arts & Crafts groups for kids, and it was really popular. You can get books about it out of Hobbycraft, or similar stores, and you just need some dyes and cheap t shirts. The results are tremendous, especially fulfilling for kids.
