When I go to new places, I love visiting museums. They're often very inexpensive (even free!); I can choose to move through it with or without an escort ; and I get to see items, information, cultures, etc. that I normally would not have the privilege, time, money, etc. to see. Museums help me to get to know others as well as myself. Depending on the museum and subject matter, one can be shuttled off into space, live among the dinosaurs, ponder brushstroke masterpieces, and watch others (I especially enjoy watching children) as they marvel in the sights.

We go to a lot of museums as we really enjoy history an enjoy seeing the actual artifacts that show how people lived in the past. It's amazing to me to see the clothes, the tools, the toys, the everyday items that were used by our ancestors, and to compare them to what we have now to see how much things have changed in a relatively short time.
