well, one way is to download winamp and you can listen to the stations for free. you can use streamripper to record the songs, though i'm not sure if this is legal.
You can also go to sideload.com to search for some songs, but their library is a little small. As with most sites which provides free downloads, the legality of this site is debated.

at the site of the artist when they decide to give it away as a promotion. Otherwise, its not free - it's stealing.
