my dads colleague said that he can generate electricity!!!...he said that if he touches a metal surface after walking for a long time...he gets an electric shock!!..and if he touches someone else...they too get an electric shock..once...he was walkin in a supermarket with his wife...pushin a trolly..suddenly his hand hit the metal side of the trolly and he got an electric shock...he asked his wife if she wanted an electric shock...she thought that he was joking...so she said yea...he asked her to touch him and touch the metal part of the trolly..when she did...sparks came up...another time...when this man was walking....he hit upon some metal surface and realised that hes having the power again..so he went and touched a colleagues face...and it that spot got burnt!!...he says that it is basic physics...something to do with the iron content in his body...my mom feels that he has some health problem...can someone tell me what exactly is happening??..

That is static electricity, and anybody can do it. The effect is strongest in cool, dry air, and you can experience it if you walk across a carpet and then touch metal. It produces a momentary jolt that can feel painful if it's strong enough. It can also produce a visible spark. You can also produce a similar effect if you wear a fleece jacket and then remove it, especially if your body is hairy. You hear the jacket crackle, and you may experience a tingling sensation.

surely the electricity is being created by friction in his clothes as he walks. Is he wearing sintheric materials this could be the reason.
