Not till just before you need to make up the milk as they can become unhygenic again.

I would wait until after the baby is born, and then I would sterilize daily.

Water is the perfect medium for bacteria growth. Once your bottles are sterile, they will be sitting somewhere, and bacteria can get on them. Unless they are sealed up in a completely airtight environment, once you touch them to put the nipples on the collars, and then the collars and tops on they are no longer sterile. We use a microwave steam sterilizer, and I sterilize what will be used that day, though they are all washed and clean.

The good news is that once your baby gets to be about six months old, you don't have to sterilize anymore, just wash really well in hot soapy water or dishwasher if they are top-rack safe.

You can always sterilize them now in the usual manner and put them in those sterilization-micro bags they sell at Target and other retailers. The bags are used for quick sterilization on the go. But I don't see why they wouldn't be appropriate for I've just gotten home from the hospital and don't feel like reboiling my bottles. You just put your items in the bag and pop them in the microwave to sterilize.

I would say do a couple around your due date, redo them everyday until you go into labour so they dont pick up anything bad from the air. Then get someone to do the rest before you come out of hospital. Although I know my friends were given bottles (disposable ones) by the hospital so they didnt need theirs until they got home (which gives hubby plently of time to make up bottles ready)

I agree to sertilize them and let them completely dry then put in a ziploc bag. My family doctor told me thats its not necessary to sterilize but a good idea to. So I'd go ahead a couple days ahead and get them done.

Just stick them in the dishwasher at any given time. The dishwasher kills everything bad.

I wouldnt do them till you have your baby, I believe that depending on what method of steralizing you use it only last 12 hours till it needs to be done again. But you could have them prewashed in soapy water and rinsed if you want something to do. Good luck with your upcoming birth
