Read your manual to make sure, but most of these lights are programmed to come on at a certain mileage. If your manual simply says you should have the car serviced soon, then it means it is not a real warning light. Some of these do double as an overheating light, but will flash repeatedly as the engine dies.
Mine came on at 80,000 miles; watched it come on when the electronic odometer turned over! Most are set to cause you to go to the dealer and have them do a diagnostic, which costs a lot of $, if there is nothing wrong with your car, drive it. The dealer will just reset the automotive computer, and find something minor to charge you for, maybe a "worn" belt or they will sell you a radiator or transmisson flush.
Watch your gauges if you have them, and certainly pay attention to real warning lights like "HOT". I now have over 106,000 miles, vehicle runs fine. And the stupid light is still on. Have known other people who had the light on for years.

The light usually comes on at certain mileage, like said above. I have a 98 Integra and the light comes on for oil changes. When I got my oil changed, they just reset the light for me. There is a way to reset it yourself but I'm not sure how. Also mentioned above, look out for something more serious.

if the maintenance was performed by your auto dealership, they should have reset the computer module.
Not sure on that model of car but disconnecting the battery for an hour or so resets most computer modules.
good luck
