I saw this movie once in my life at the movie theater when I was a little girl. when I got older I began to ask questions about it and I found out that it is only shown once in a great while and that it would never be out on DVD. does anyone know if it is true?

I have it on DVD! It is one of the classics and it was extremely hard to find on DVD. I happen to like the movie and do see your points. I'm surprised no one has sued Disney over it yet!

I don't know if it will never be out on DVD, but I could believe it, as the movie was full of racist stereotypes and Disney (being the PC company that it is) wouldn't want to get sued for it. It's too bad because there were some really good lessons in that movie.

I saw it about sixty years ago and to this day, it is probably my favorite movie of all time. It probably won't ever be shown and probably won't come out on DVD for the simple reason that it is considered racist. As a child, I never thought of it that way, but nowadays, people would.

I hope this revisionist trash is never released on dvd. Happy, singing slaves for godsake! This is pure crap. I dont know about you, but if I was a slave, I really doubt I'd sing and dance and act like life in "massahs" world was fine and dandy. I'd be praying for Nat Turner to come and get some real justice. Terrible movie only a racist would love.,

is that the one ''Im gonna wash that man right outta my hair?''
If it is, I saw it when I was little, we had it on video but somewhere it got lost.
Maybe you can find it at your local video club, on video at least?
