I have the e260 and I LOVE it. However, I have read some reviews of the 270 and 280 and they're not as good as the 250 or 260s. I'm not sure why, but I'm going to guess that since the 270 and 280s have more disk space, it comes with more problems. (This is based on reviews on Circuit City's website and eBay.)
Lots of Sansa users have said that they're better than Ipods. I like them better as well. The Sansas are smaller and easier to use. Just drag and drop when you want to transfer music files. The Sansa comes with its own media converter if you want to add videos to your mp3 player. My advice is to make sure you name the music files you want on your player before you transfer them, because there doesn't seem to be a way to edit the names/artists/etc. after loading them onto your player. No need for Itunes or anything.
Also, get some kind of skin/protector for the player. It's so nice and shiny and I hate the idea of leaving smudges on something so nice. You might feel the same, haha.
Music sounds great, but don't use the headphones it comes with. The sound quality won't be as good. The video player is excellent; the quality is sharp and clear. The radio is nifty and the voice recorder is a nice feature. More features than the Ipod...
The source is for the 6 GB player. The features are the same for all Sansa e-series players.

The 1st reviewers called the Sansa range the iPod killer, decent players at lower prices, sounds good to me.
