Ok guys, Im thinking of a present to give my girlfriend on her 22nd birthday. its her first birthday with me. i dont like flowers.

Women love jewelery, but a ring or necklace are too "serious relationshipy", go for a pair of earrings. ALL 22 year old girls love them and she'll be psyched that you went and picked them out. They're pretty inexpensive too. You can get silver instead of gold for 20-50 bucks, whatever floats your boat.
Do pay attention to the ones she already wears and try and stay within the same style and size. If she wears dangly, get dangly. If she prefers studs get studs. She'll be floored.

i am in my early 20s and i would love to get books, makeup, perfume, electronic gadget (mps player if she doesnt have, camera, TV, etc..) giftcard to itune or other place to download music, something useless for her apartment (fancy candle holder, cake dish) home cooked meal, home baked cake, a trip..even if its just a romantic weekend to a log cabin, dinner to a very fancy restaurant where we can get dressed up and go with a limo, stay at a fancy hotel in town

you could get her tickets to see a show of something you know for sure she enjoys...a ballet, a play, etc. find out what she likes, get the tickets and surprise her at dinner or something like that. good luck!
