I recently downloaded a programme from the web and then my computer was infected. I managed to run my AVG which put two trojans in the vault. My anti-spyware is also not working very well.

I then noticed in my program files folder a program called PornPass Manager. I tried deleting it and it keeps saying access denied or some other program or user is using this program. How do i get rid of it?

I hope someone can help. I dont know much about computers.

Ok Simple : Go Download Free Panda Virus scan its Free on the web . ( Google Panda Scan )

Download the little file and run scan it will wipe the Torjan.

Also Buy Norton antvirus and run it once a day . This should help . If all the above dont work do System Restore on the last best Pc Config u had , You can find this option in Windows Folder .

You need to go into safe mode. Reboot your computer, and when it begins to boot up start pressing F8 until it tells you that it is going into safe mode. Let it load thoroughly. It will look different from your usual boot up screen--all icons are bigger, etc.

First try deleting the PornPass Manager program in safe mode. Then run your antivirus and your antispyware. Any trojans found should be put into quarantine. Removing them entirely might corrupt your system.

You might also try investing in a firewall so this doesn't happen again.

If you can't get rid of your trojans this way, a complete reformatting of your system may be necessary.

You don't need to buy any more software. This antivirus company has a program that will remove viruses from your computer over the web. They are a very reputable organisation used by lots of businesses.
Disable your existing antivirus, then go to this website and run the scan:

start menu/run/(type) msconfig select startup uncheck any prog you don't recognise( or uncheck everything)you cannot delete a file if that file is being used restart pc then goto add remove progs see if its listed if it is uninstall program. go back into prog file and delete it. then run antivirus and spyware in safe mode this should remove any traces from your windows registry as some progs can reinstall them selves from traces left behind in windows registry(but you can only do this from safe mode as this only allows basic windows setup to run. when you have finished go back into msconfig re check progs like your antivirus, firewall, spyware, and broadband if you dint these progs will not automatically start when you start your pc. hope this helps good luck

Get a different anti-spyware program, uninstall your current one - clashing anti-whatever programs is bad.

Download anti-virus program: "Avast" - at http://www.avast.com - it's FREE - you just need a serial number from the website to activate for 12 months - it's still all FREE though!

try going into the add/remove programs in the control panel and see if its there. If not then go into the virus vault and select to delete the files, reboot, rerun antivirus.....anti-spy and run disc cleanup as well.

You can try deleting it in Safe Mode, and you can try System Restore.
Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore and select 'restore my computer to an earlier time.'
Pick a date before you downloaded the program and let the pc reset itself. Then see if this program is still there.
I'm guessing it will be, so next thing is to switch off System Restore as back up files will be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore and select 'switch off System Restore' as all the restore dates will be infected.

Then go to Start - Run and when the box comes up type in
msconfig
and a dialogue box will appear. Click the 'Start' tab, and look to see if 'PornPass Manager' is on the list. If it is, untick it and restart your computer. Hopefully this time it won't load on startup and you can try uninstalling it again.

Then download and install a firewall, AVG Antispyware and Ad-Aware SE Personal. Then restart in Safe Mode.

To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads (black screen with white writing) but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.
Try deleting the file if it will let you.
Then run AVG anti spyware and Ad-Aware SE Personal. It will take a while but be patient.
Then restart into normal mode and check its gone.

Then beef up your security. Its easier to prevent malware getting on to your sytem in the first place rather than trying to remove it.

The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out. Zone Alarm firewall is free for personal use and stops unwanted incoming and outgoing traffic. You choose which programs are allowed to access the internet. It's fairly easy to use and updated regularly.
