No. Some things are "programmed", such as emotions creating a predictable pattern of behavior (ie, when people are happy, they usually smile and have a cheery outlook). Nature + nurture does not = an entire individual's life. Free will to make choices, or not, at any time, the ability to love, the ability to reason, the ability to even consider a question like yours... it all adds up to something bigger than simply a programmed "sense of consciousness."

Good question! This one is little more complicated. Are we just programmed machines of fate or are we a conscious free will? The universal truth is we are both. The dreamer (collective/God/etc.) writes the story of the dreamt (physical reality) by the very fact the dreamer is the dreamer. Still the dreamer for the most part is only a passive observer not a lucid dreamer. Thus, we have free will also. The dreamer gives the dream choices of paths to take depending upon the results of past paths. Then when the dream chooses a path a whole new set of paths come up. We are just like characters in a story. We can slip through the pages when the dreamer's mind wanders. I can guarantee, that something in some other dimension (some of time and place) right now is writing down your story as some sort of book. Everyone is the author of everyone else because we write the dreams as the dreamer observes his dream

Mind, yes to some extent resembles a program, in fact, the very design of program seems to have evolved out of close observation of mind , its functionalities, and more than anything else, its needs, so it has to closely resemble the memory, logic etc...
Consciousness, is just a witness and is not functional like a program... it gives the 'life' to everything.

No programs are for computers. I tend to believe that the structure of brain function is slightly different in just about everyone. We don't experience the same conditioning so in return our development varies with each individual. This has more to do with our perception of consciousness than we realize.

in a way, yes. i have had thoughts that when we are in the collective consciousness we get bored after a time. we devise our life as a game and then we play it out. the fun or not fun part is we program ourselves to forget the program. de javu is the times when we get the big points and have traveled thru the game to that point and have a brief memory of the pre-plan

No, the mind is not a program, it is an operating system and the system produces consciousness.

Just because your pea-brain can't fathom the complexity involved doesn't mean the brain isn't carrying out a methodic procedure according to rules which gives rise to consciousness.

I think it is not. Because the mind produces things that "just a program" wouldn't. Creativity, Love, Fear, Joy, Courage. You could say that the mind works like a program, but a mere program doesn't reinvent itself, it doesn't learn.

no. too many variations of the same thing out there, yet they defy logic and go against the flow. just look at religion so many believe in the invisible man up there and someone who has died long ago. if jesus did come back he would be grabed by the government and stuck in a lab for analysis. look at mohamed he is long dead and they keep sending more to see him all the time try and program that!!!!! well they already are by making suicide bombers lol. go see allah sooner go see your local suicide bomber today!

oh my freakin gosh, yes. we are all influenced by a tainted society and therefore never who we are truely meant to be. even "free will" is programmed. we are programmed to pick certain choices and never see the obvious that has yet to be introduced. if you raised a child in a black room that is all they will know is black and words. THey will not know color, gender, the ways of other people, or the terrors of the world. Ignorance maybe, I call it perfection of the conscious mind.
