If you are serious about modelling in mainstream go to a large well known agency such as Storm, Select, Premier etc. They don't charge you any money for shoots, protfolios etc and will offer support and advice as well as tailoring your look etc.

They will also give your career the boost it needs as you have a large name behind you and you'll know that you are good enough because they only accept people good enough to make it.

Dont ever pay for pictures or to progress your career there are a lot of con artists out there. You can get free pics from photographers doing testing.

Try the EMEA (Europes Association of model agenices) for a list of agencies that don't rip people off.

Good luck and hope to see you gracing our magazines soon!

as a model i started out by just going to a wedding shop that needed models to showcase some dresses at a wedding show and it took off from their, see if there are any local companies in your area that need models for assignments like this, also if you are interested in a specific brand then email them and see what they come back with, ask them if they have any useful contacts they could provide you with the details of. storm modelling in london is a top agency, try yellow pages or a similar directory to get local agencies as you have to start small to get big. you need a trustworthy agency that wont take you for a ride, they may be expensive but they will give you the best representation and get you the best jobs. also if you go to any fashion shows then get some info while you are there, models must reach a certain criteria and its a very tough business to get noticed in remember just because you may not get noticed doing one type of modelling then there are plenty of other types that you can get into its not just catwalks and location shoots, you must have a talent and an edge that stands out from others, also a personality, you must have dedication and follow a strict regime.
try www.bruceandbrown.com this is a company that my firm uses depending on your age depends on what agencies will represent you, MOT modelling is aloso good and also Kids London
if you need any other contact details for these companies then or have any other questions feel free to email me Gypsyslagwagon@yahoo.co.uk
good luck
