Even though a person doesn’t believe in God most people in the world do. The Jews are God’s chosen people and that ticks a lot of folks off. Some Christians hate Jews because they believe the Jews caused Jesus’ death, but Jesus was a Jew. There are thousands of reasons why people hate Jews and hate other people, and like all hate it is blind to the truth. Hate is never a good foundation to build on.
By the way, I am not Jewish

My general experience is that most racial groups seem to have historically hated the other racial groups they were in contact with.
The british hated the french, the french hated the germans, serbians hate the bosnians etc. etc. How do say the swedes feel about romania? nothing - they weren't in contact. Everyone a group was in contact with, they had some bad history with.
The jews spread all over europe. So everyone was in contact with them.
The end.
That's point 1. Point 2 - jewish communities in many countries were fairly successful, which made them about as popular as the korean shopowners in compton california. When recessions hit, or bad things happened, guess who felt some rage from 'native' born poor individuals who felt entitled to more then the foreigners.

I don't think everyone hates the Jews, although there are certainly groups of people who do. I don't see how most groups have any right to hate them as a people considering without Jews, you wouldn't have Christianity or the Nation of Islam (because they also use the old testament and Mohammed branched off way back when to form his own group) In any case, Jews get the most trouble from the people whose religions sprouted from Judaism. You never find a Hindu or a Buddhist bothering with a Jew.

Non-Jews have always been suspicious of Jews because throughout Byzantine and post-Roman history, they entered society, but never assimilated. Many idiot Christians spread the idea that Jews were responsible for killing Jesus because of the way the Gospels were interpreted in the Middle Ages. It didn't help that Jews didn't share a lot of their traditions with the outside world -- this led to rampant speculation about what the "secret" lives of Jews were really like. Things like preparing the blood of Christians for various feast days were rumors spread up to the early 20th century (called "blood libel"). Beyond that, general suspicion was just handed down from parent to child and by word of mouth.

Okay a couple of things led to this silly feeling. One the Jewish culture is one of hard work, saving money, and yes a little bit of superiority in the believe of being God's chosen people. So, let's say some folks made stupid decisions and they all were broke, the only one around with money and business were Jewish since they saved and invested wisely. So alot jealousy and since they ended up being in debt to them it was "easier" to get rid of them instead of paying back the loan. In Israel, the countries around them decided to declare war and take everything in the land they developed. Well they got their butts kicked. Israel in turn basically took extra land as war bounty and a buffer against the aggressors. This displaced the Palestinian for decades and those aggressive countries didn't want them in their countries either so they got stuck in refuge settlements.
Of course all that above is a very brief summary and all rounds up to be a simple jealousy of the Jewish population doing better than others. Seems stupid to me.

Well you know what, if you study Scripture, satan hates the Jews more than anyone else in the World especially since all Old Testament writers were Jewish and so were all but 1 New Testament writer (the one who was not born Jewish was a Greek named St. Luke who wrote the books of Luke and Acts).
The Jewish race produced our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who died for our Sins.
Jesus came for both Jew and Gentile (and yes some Jews have accepted him, in fact the 1st Christians were born Jewish for example).
Apostle Paul who was both a Jew and a Roman (one of only a small percentage of Jews who held Roman citizenship) spoke about how a Jew who became a Christian should not have to give up a lot of the Jewish traditions (and Messianic Jews and Jews for Jesus do in fact maintain a lot of Jewish traditions along with following Jesus).
Apostle Paul also pointed out the fact that some felt you had to become Jewish before becoming a Christian and he pointed out that a Gentile could become a Christian without becoming a Jew so it's like Jews who became Christians could keep a great deal of the Jewish traditions but a Gentile becoming a Christian was not expected to follow a lot of Jewish traditions.
Unfortunately there were some in the Churches who decided to distort important Christian doctrines including the removal of Jewish teachings that were important to the Christian faith because some Anti-Semetic people decided to play the game of blame the Jews for the death of Jesus.
Well I gotta tell you if anyone is responsible for the Death of Jesus, it is every Sinner like you and me regardless of race, religion, background and anything else.
We all our responsible regardless of our background because the only way we could be saved from the pits of Hell is by Jesus dying on the Cross to pay the Penalty for our Sins.
Jesus died for everyone Jew and Gentile.
Jesus was even willing to forgive anyone who chanted crucify him as well as any Roman Soldier that nailed him to the Cross.
It is for instance alleged that Pontius Pilate had himself become a Christian but I have not been able to verify if this is the case or not.
Although I am a Christian, I do have a trace of Jewish blood in me and it seems like some people sadly like to call other people thinks like stupid Jew and f***ing Jew and so forth regardless of whether or not anyone is a Jew or not.
Very bad idea because someone could be Jewish or as in my case someone could have Jewish ancestry.
A good example of this is that after Christmas last year, soem girl I chatted with called me a f***ing fat a** Jew and oh boy I gave her a talking to on that one.
And for all you Anti-Semetic people out there, if it weren't for the Jewish race, we wouldn't have had many wonderful inventions, a Jew invented the ability to save people from Heart Attacks.
So if you ever have a Heart Attack and you survive you can thank a Jew for saving your Life.

They didn't do anything other than being the chosen people of God. I don't believe everyone hates the jewish people. They are not the only ones who have been persecuted. Check out what is happening in India and China.

It's a long story. . . . but your perceptions are true. A lot of it is based on a perception that eastern Europeans are inferior to western Europeans (80% of modern Jews are of Eastern European heritage).
Some of it is based on the growing influence of muslim immigrants in European countries.
Some of it is based on Religion.
A lot of it is based on ignorance.
Wikipedia is an "ok" source, but way too broad . . . still good enough though to answer your question.
