1. Do you help out with chores or do you wait to be asked/told to do something?

2. If you do help out do you do it to the best of your ability or just hap-hazzardly to get it done?

3. If you don't know how to do it do you ask or do you let your ego get in the way?

4. Do you take her/his feelings into consideration each day?

5. Do you show that they matter to you? Do something nice for them even as simple as doing their laundry for them so they don't have to after work or getting an oil change for their car or even making a nice meal or offering to give the kids a bath and read to them in bed?

6. Do you think your only contribution is to work and bring home a paycheck and leave everything else up to the other person?

7. Do you tell them that you appreciate them?

Some things to ponder and hopefully help!

I'm not saying you are, but you just might be too opinionated or stubborn and that gives you the feeling of failure on your part. Try being more open minded, and take advise and criticism from your family, and just do your part around the house. I don't know your situation, I am just writing as if it were my daughter, and she used to say the same thing.

All you can do is the best you can do in any situation. If you spend your life living for everyone else, you will never learn to make your self happy and that is who you have to reach first. If you live in your parents house, do your best to abide by their rules, and rationally state any concerns. You still need to show respect, but if you do it right, you can earn a little in the process.
