Capable? Unfortunately, yes.

Would I hate myself for doing it? Most definitely.

It's not a matter of being capable, as anybody, under pressing circumstances, would do whatever they had to, even if it meant the death of another animal.

I'm curious though...
What makes a mammal any more worthy of living than, say, a reptile or arthropod?

Unfortunately, yes.

I have killed several people in Iraq in the early 90's... The more it happened, the easier it got.
Sitting in a bunker, popping off a m-16 is nothing... Its hard when your at close range and you are face to face...

Only if it was threatening someone else or myself, I think we all are capable of it. Would I want to...no, I couldn't even kill a mouse we had in our shed last year.
