Because Ukraine has a mostly temperate continental climate and The Ukrainian landscape consists mostly of fertile plains, or steppes, and plateaus, crossed by rivers such as the Dnieper, Seversky Donets, Dniester and the Southern Buh as they flow south into the Black Sea and the smaller Sea of Azov. To the southwest the delta of the Danube forms the border with Romania.

I think (I'm guessing a bit) much ukranium soil is probably loess - made up of particles that were ground very fine by glaciers in the the ice-age. As the particles are so fine, they are easily carried by wind, and can accumulate in to thick, soft deposits. It makes really good soil.

I dont beleive there is any proof that ukranian soil is any deeper than soil from other parts of the world. And it is not necessarily radioactive. yeah at chernobyl. Geesh, I dont know where people come up with this stuff.
