They discovered my aneurysm in 1989 while performing an angiogram. It measured 3.1 cm at that time and it qualified me for an annual ultra sound measurement of its size. Mine was slow growing and reached the operable stage in 2006. I had a stent inserted in the aorta that fixed the problem. I was out of the hospital and free of complications 24 hours after surgery. It is not something to fool with, for if it ruptures your chances of survival are extremely low. Good luck.

If you just found out you had one, I assume you had a doctor tell you this. Then that same doctor should be the one who should tell you what treatment is required or not required, including the possibility of surgery. YOU should not rely on any answers on this site for such an important medical question that could impact your continued ability to LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't play with this one! If it ruptures there is only a 10% survival rate!! My stepfather had this! Talk to your doctor and keep a VERY close eye on this!
