if so, what time did i waste? same day, same time??

No, as you would find out if you did so. It would be a quick plane indeed to take just 3 hours to get there. However, I did leave London at 4 P.M. and arrived in Washington at 2 P.M., did I gain 2 hours or just catch up? What happens if you go from Guam to Hawaii, leave on Saturday, arrive on Friday. Fun fun fun.

First off that can not be done. It takes about 6 to 7 hours to fly cross country. Minus -3 hours Second you have not wasted any time, unless you personly think you have wasted time.

If you kept going, your time stasis would be abruptly broken when you flew across the international date line, where a time vortex would suddenly hurl you 24 hours into the future.
