Ok, so I might be using stereotypes but hey....

so I was just looking out of my office window, and i saw a rather large man walking down the street. And i wondered, do his shoes wear out quicker cos he is larger, and hence more weight. But then i thought he probably doesnt walk as far as someone of less weight!?!

which got me thinking, in general, people with larger feet, are taller, and hence heavier. Is there some correlation between the size of shoe and how quick they wear out.

there seems like lots of variables tho. are people with larger feet more likely to scuff (drag) their feet? how much does the size of the shoe spreading out the weight compensate for the extra weight?

What do you think!?!

I think you have entirely too much time on your hands. Better board up your office window.

I have a size 13 shoe... and I consistantly wore out shoes that had a two year warranty in six months. (So i got 3 free pairs of shoes ... it was pretty sweet)
But then again i walk a lot... did not own a car and went to the store every other day or so.

I do think that the size of the shoe does balance out the added weight that you get from a person with big feet. I look at the differance between my and my girlfreinds shoes, and mine are not just longer, but quite appreciably wider.
And I have thin feet... people with really fat feet... I mean jesus, have you ever seen a really fat persons shoes... they look like snow shoes with covers... they are freaking huge.

But it does not matter... they do not walk as much.

I would say if there is a major differance, it would be because of the way that people walk much more than size and weight of people. (again disregardin the really fat people... I mean have you ever seen their shoes... oh I already said that)

And it is true, tall people do tend to walk a little funny, we are kinda hunched over, and we take weird steps so that we do not leave our shorter freinds behind. So i think that would be your best place to start looking.

(I hope that the office window you are staring out of is part of a shoe company.)

The larger the shoe the bigger the surface area so the more contact it has with the floor, however smaller shoes as someone said are generally worn by people with smaller legs therefore have to take more steps. Therefore i just think that they wear out the same and the person wearing those shoes couldnt be bothered to go and get some more.

I think it depends on the type of shoe the person is wearing

also having large feet does not indicate being heavier

some people just walk funny!

Smaller feet shoes wear out quicker because shorter legs take more steps. My plates are massive
