A friend and I wanted to get a ouija board for halloween. But alot of people keep telling me not to do it - that it's "dangerous". Personally I think people who believe in that stuff are just superstitious. What do you think??

I think it depends on the pysche of the people involved. I personally have seen some pretty bizarre things involving not just a Ouija board, but also letters written on paper and a over-turned drinking glass as a guide. Anyway, some say that using such things invites spirits into your home. I think it depends upon the mood and honest conjecture of those involved.

Do NOT use an Ouija Board. The board itself is not dangerous as it is just a piece of cardboard, etc. What the board REALLY is a tool to contact the spirit world.
The real danger is that there is no control when using an Ouija Board. There are benevolent and malicious spirits and when contacting the spirit world, you have no control over which type of spirit you are contacting.
I think every legend, superstition, etc. has a grain of truth. And while I've personally never had an issue with an Ouija Board, I've heard and read enough about people that have been driven mad after using an Ouija Board OR have become possessed after using one that I know that it is not something I will ever mess with.

Well, superstitious has it's purpose.
Everything has its purpose doesn't it?
Looks to me, the answer to your question depends on the answer to
Is there really Evil being in this world that can cause harm to human beings?
Does God and Satan exist?
Is there really Hell?
So, I guess if you can answer to these questions, you will have the answer to "Is it safe to use a Ouija Board?"
The word I want to stress here is "Believe". Some people believe in themselves. Some believe that they were meant for greater things. Some believe in religion and God.
With these beliefs, some became a better person with positive effect of everyone and everything else around them. Some became fanatic and destroys relationship, people and everything else. It's all about what you believe in.
As for me, I believe in God and therefore, I believe that Ouija Board is not something to be played with.
After all, there's so much other better things to do than to meddle with the unknown.

No, they are not just superstitious, and Yes, it is dangerous. That is not to say it might not work, but that it MIGHT!!! And there you are, communicating with an entity about which you know nothing. Absolutely nothing. Not even whether it is good or evil.
Do you think benevolent forces often use such methods? You think it is benevolent to want to open a communication channel that could be used by very, very malevolent forces?
If you really want divination, use something you can learn something about before you use it as a channel to contact other entities, to keep it neutral. My own choice is Tarot. You must choose for yourself. But I strongly warn against Ouija boards.

Yes it dangerous for many reasons if you don't know what your
doing it's not just the demonic forces that can harm you your own fear within yourself can manifest itself and you can spin out of control.

Don't do it. My mom and her friends did it once and a dead relative called our house 4 minutes after "talking" with the relative. Might be different for you but I wouldn't try it.

i think it's a load of BS! there are no spirits and crap haunting the board or whatever..dont believe it..
