Check www.ispreview.co.uk and www.adslguide.org.
ispreview have them listed as receiving the most complaints about the service they provide.
If you check out the forums in adslguide.org then each ISP has its own forum where its customers praise or ***** about the service. Its a good source for up to date news on an ISP by actual users due to its popularity. Users also report their bandwidth speeds and the support they recieve so that each ISP has a profile built up.
Just come across this as well:
http://www.adslguide.org/isps/compare.asp?bt=ON&bulldog=ON&claranet=ON&nildram=ON&freeserve=ON&tiscali=ON&cmp_action=Compare
This is a comparison of a few companies, you can do this yourself on adslguide by using the compare option from the menu. Nildram really are as good as they appear in the comparison as well :)
Hope this helps.

I use Tiscali, it good service is generally OK I have found it to be quite slow of late, I have been told that this is due to the increase of broadband users in my area, it seems that the BT ADSL line can't keep up with the usage.
Give it a try if its a freeby you can always cancel it if you are not happy with it.

i could stay far flung from tiscali if I have been you. I dont know lots with reference to the surely cost of issues via fact im 15, yet i will thoroughly say that tiscali grew to become into the worst television provider i've got ever had. It took approximately six seconds to alter channels, that could get extremely hectic after awhile, and the distant used up batteries like loopy. jointly as with tiscali, we experienced issues of the provider on almost a weekly foundation. If it wasnt the the distant, it grew to become into the field failing to tutor on. And whilst it grew to become into working, and the distant befell to be lost, there grew to become into no way of fixing the channel via fact there are no buttons on the surely tiscali field that permit you to try this. that's a waste of time, and that i wouldnt hazard getting this provider for sky channels. we are at the instant on virgin media that's an extremely stable provider so some distance, and has given us very almost no issues considering we've been given it lower back and does the spectacular same issues tiscali does yet with greater channels. the only shy away to it extremely is the certainty which you cant get sky one, 2 or 3, yet apart from that, virgin is relatively stable. and the broadband is comparatively quickly, and ought to honestly help your msn and downloads. I propose going to sky themselves for the full kit. yet stay far flung from tiscali. Oh, and that i watch fx too, they have it on virgin media.

cool, how did you manage that?
been using them for over a year and no real probs, no drop in service at all, never really had a need to call customer service either.
i have been considering moving over to talktalk option 3 international, but until they sort out their customer service issues i'll be staying with tiscali.

my brother used them about 3-4 years ago and they were rubbish. they took more money out of his bank acount then what it said in the contract and he got into terrible debt. when he phoned them they just kept putting him through to loads of different people and he ended up going round in circles. he ended up getting his phone line cut off and is still paying the debt off. iv heard similar stories to this aswell, dont use them its a waste of time and money

I've never had a major problem with them. They did try to change my phone provider to their own company when I didn't ask them but one phone call sorted that out.

I am sure that a friend of mine had trouble leaving them once they joined, I think they blocked something so they couldn't get any broadband. but I am not 100% sure.
