My period isn't due to start until about a week (7 days) from now. The date of sexual activty was about exactly 7 days from today. I did a home pregnancy test this morning. Do you all think that it was a bit too early to take the test?

You trying to trap me, I wore a condom and dang it soon as I put on my clothes you want to take a pregnacy test...dang sweetie at least wait til you are late, and if you are stressing out about it, you may very well be late, but it doesn't mean you're pregnant. Slow your roll.

I have found that the 'early predictor' tests aren't always accurate because the hormone produced in pregnancy which is what the HPT picks up isn't usually strong enough. I'd say to wait until after your period is due. You MAY be able to use an early test and get an accurate result, but I'd rather wait a few more days and find out.

Some people can get a result that early but its quite rare. A lot of eggs are only implantating at around 7 days post fertilisation and the hormone secreted that is picked up by a hpt can't be detected until the egg is implanted and releasing that hormone into your systems. Fertilisation doesn't always happen when you ovulate or when you have sex around the time of ovulation so you may be less than those 7 days pregnant.
With my babies I've had positive results at 10 days past ovulation and then twice at 14 days past, the day my period was due.

Way too early. Pregnancy tests are most accurate 10 days after a MISSED period. Yours isn't even due. The earliest you should test is the day of a due period.

Take a First Response test three days before your period. They come with two tests so take the second one the day or day after you miss your period.

yeah - best to wait till a few days 3-4 before your period is due, and make sure you use a reputable company and not a cheap brand.
