The carpet cleaner was from HG passed through a high pressure cold water jet. It's taken 3 days to dry but still the amonia smell is overpowering. I tried tee tree oil with bicarb of soda as a 'natural' treatment but still no luck.

Go to the Pet store and get this product called Nature's Miracle. It is a white bottle with red writing. It always works.

Hi
For just a few spots

Nature’s Miracle should work. It is available at Petsmart. Make sure you follow the direction. The main reason that it fails is that people just sprays it on and wipe it up and not let it soak into the carpet and pad like the urine did. You may need to do this 2 or 3 time. Just reminder that the urine treatment product needs to go where the urine went for it to work properly. After you clean the spots, you should shampoo the carpet using this product on the front and back of rug.

In my experience, Nature's Miracle is your best bet. Good luck!

Try using cat litter (one that has a white cat on the front of the bag) this has to be done when its wet of course but should soak up the bad smell to.
Just pour on to wet area leave until moisture is fully absorbed. if its still not dry put more on until it does dry out. .

Buy a gallon of Nature's Miracle. It works. About $25. It's enzymes with no detergent. Pour it on and let it dry on it's own. No smell.

Get it at a pet store. The imitations don't work.

Equal parts of Febreeze and Fantastik (original one) sprayed on the carpet and throughly scrubbed around with a brush. Dry by rubbing vigorously with a clean dry towel.

I am having almost the same dilemma. Our kittens decided to make underneath our couches their litter box. Needless to say they were booted out the door (outside). I tore off the liner underneath the couches and scrubbed with bleach, but the couches seemed to have absorbed the funk. I too need to know of something that gets rid of the hideous smell.

3% hydrogen peroxide - 1 cup
baking soda - 1 teaspoon
dishwashing liquid - 2 drops

Mix with WOOD spoon and pour over area and let dry. Do not store left over product and do not mix with metal spoon (the chemicals with react in closed container and will burst.)
