She started off a blonde, as seen in her baby pictures in her new book, "GROWING PAINS."
In her early teens, she was seen as a brunnette (paticularly while at Sylvia Young theatre school). After a year, she started ot experiment with colouring her hair. There is an interesting bit in her book that says when a boy in her school first commented on how she was colouring her hair, and that it was the first time she had ever met someone who was gay!
Her parents have very dark hair, but her siblings all look blonde and sandy/dirty blondish...as children in the pics. ON the Doctor Who Billie Piper video-diaries, her two sisters have brown hair.

Look at her eyebrows, they are almost black. She is probably a brunette or has really dark blonde hair.
I am curious though about your reasons for wanting to know!

if you have blonde hair this will naturally get bleached by the particular sun in the summer. There had been this guy in my class who also had golden blonde hair that had been a medium brown near the bottom part. When he came back to university after summer vacation, it was nearly platinum blonde!

Exactly why is everyone with blond, why can't you just have jet black tresses with some blonde or blonde curly hair with some jet black hair. Today you don't have to choose.
