I am only ten weeks but I am positive I have been feeling movement since eight weeks, I also found out from my childhood studies course that babies do move at eight weeks, I saw it on a video, they showed us an eight week old fetus moving it's arms.
Anyway I am not due for my first antenatal appointment/scan until I am 12 weeks so is it possible to feel movements this early with single babies or is it more likely in multiple pregnancies?

This my second pregnancy.

Well, you're supposed to feel movements much earlier in a second and subsequent pregnancy than in the first.

Even if it was twins the baby (ies) would still be made up mostly of dividing cells, a fetus does not start any movement in the womb until 8 weeks (and many mums-to-be do not feel it until many weeks after this) what you are feeling is gas bubbles which can mimic baby's movement and it is cause by the increase in progesterone to help support the pregnancy.

If you are in tune with your body - you will feel the babies' movements earlier.

I didn't feel my 1st born until I was almost 4 months pregnant. Because I always dismissed the movements as something else (gas, whatever). With my 2nd child, I felt her as early as 8 weeks also. Then, I was more familiar with my own body during pregnancy, and was more familiar with a baby's movements.

I'm currently pregnant with twins - I wouldn't say that it's because there are two babies having fun in there, is the reason that I felt them sooner. It was because I knew what a moving baby felt like.

Hi there, I have identical twin girls who are 7months old. I dont remember feeling any movements until i was about 4/5months pregnant. You do get double the movements. I used to be scanned every 2wks until 32wks and then every week until i was induced at 37wks, because the twins were sharing the same placenta. They never used to move during my scans, And both stayed in awkward places until they were born twin 1 used to keep her feet in my ribs and twin 2 used to keep her head in my bladder. Once the twins start moving you will definitely feel it! Best off luck.

My second pregnancy was twins and I didn't feel any movement until around 18 weeks - I'm sure every pregnancy is different.......
I had horrendous morning sickness and tiredness which I didn't have with my first daughter but it still never occured to me there was two of them in there!!!

Good Luck with your pregnancy

It's highly unlikely that your feeling movement at this early stage. Although babies show signs of movement from 8wks on there is so much fluid around them that it would be almost impossible to feel it. Is there a possibility that you could be further along than you think? If this is the case then you could possibly feel some slight flickering of movement. Everyone is different and as this is your second baby you may feel movement a bit sooner than most, but at 10wks I'd say it is highly unlikely.

my aunt had identical twin girls in January and she couldn't feel anything until 11 weeks so I don't really know, but one of them is more active than the other and she felt movements in that side of stomach before other. It turns out that was the twin that is more active that she could feel first

youre supposed to feel it more quickly on your second pregnancy, i've only had one pregnancy, and i could feel movement from around 8-10 weeks - i had twins though, theres less room in there so you feel it earlier, best wishes either way xx
