^ She has got it right. There are little exciting parts here and there, and perhaps suspense at the end if it's close, but other than that it's just boring. To quote that guy from that movie "The Forgotten", "Baseball, about the only sport you can play while taking a nap".
I will also be so bold as to say football is a much tougher sport. The majority of the players (majority and not all, because anti-footballers make it seem like fat lineman are the only players, ignoring the other 10+ guys on the field) are much more conditioned than the average baseball player, and if you had to list it out, it takes many more skills to play the average football position than the average baseball position-------not saying BB players arn't skilled, but football players are more skilled

The reason baseball has gotten more boring to watch over the last 20 years or so is because of all of the little crap going on which drags out the game time to over 3 hours.
Looking at some box scores of 1971-1975 World Series games, those game took an average of less than 2 1/2 hours to play. It was routine to play a full game in 2:15 to 2:20, which was actually a nice pace. For reference, two of the four games of the 1966 World Series (Orioles over Dodgers) were both played in under 2 hours. One of the games took only 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Batters step out of the box after every pitch, to "adjust" every piece of equipment they're wearing, and the umpires let them. The pitchers just stand there on the mound, trying to upset the batters who are waiting for a pitch... and the umpires let them. Then when the pitcher gets ready to go into his windup, the batter calls time and steps out, and the umpires let them. There is actually a rule limiting the amount of time the pitcher has to deliver a pitch once he gets the ball, but it's been so long since that rule was enforced, I forgot what the time limit actually is...I'm thinking 30 seconds, but I could be wrong.
The tension that naturally arises from the situations that present themselves in a baseball game is dissipated by the constant delays between the pitcher and the batter.
As you probably know, the batter can not 'call' time...he has to ASK the umpire to call time... of course, the umpires don't have the authority that they used to have, so they always call time, anytime the batter asks them to. If I were an umpire, my policy would be, once you step into the batters box, TIME WILL NOT BE CALLED... I'd make an exception if a bee flies into The batter face, but that's about it.
Plus, pitchers never complete their own games anymore, so we get 4 or 5 pitching changes between the two teams in a typical game... that also takes a lot of time. So the fact that pitchers can't go more than 6 innings anymore doesn't help matters, because then they've got to bring in a 'middle reliever' and then the closer comes in to finish the game in the 9th inning.
If players, managers and umpires would quit fooling around and play baseball, the game would move along at a much faster pace.

It is all a matter of opinion. I love Baseball. I would rather watch a low scoring game than a shootout. The same goes with soccer. People here in America talk about changing soccer rules to make it more interesting. I totally disagree. As far as baseball goes, It's interesting to watch the strategies. How they pitch to certain people in different situations. Stolen bases and just getting a lead, making the pitcher pay attention to you. The fact that compared to sports with a clock, technically in baseball, you are never out of the game. You can score 11 runs or better in 1 inning to take the lead.

I agree with you because I also think football is better too. It has more action and its more entertaining to me. It's kind of suspenseful and most of the time it has you sitting at the edge of your seat. But everybody is entitled to their own opinion. To the people who like baseball, stop being so sensitive and defensive. They just think its boring, so let them express their opinion, already! And Footlball is also a very hard sport. And it's not a man's sport, girls can do it too (Have you ever heard of Powderpuff Football? It's for girls.)

Baseball has no body-checking or tackling.
I always said that baseball would be more exciting if the runners were allowed to carry and use their bats on the bases.

i love baseball but mostly out of habit. it has become boring because the true essence of the game has been replaced by 450 ft home runs which have taken away the the fundamentals and all the exciting parts of the game. to me, a perfectly executed double play or a play at the plate are the most exciting parts of the game itself. but those plays don't make sportscenter highlights as often as some .237 hitter slamming a ball farther than previously humanly possible.

Well we Americans HAD to give the world some sport that they could actually play, so we gave them baseball and basketball, K? Soccer sucks so bad that we felt sorry for them and created these two sports that the rest of the world could actually comprehend, on their level.
Football is reserved for only we Americans to master, because it is truly a man's game!!
GO BUCKEYES!!!
GO GIANTS!!!!!!!

It's soooooo subjective!
Personally I don't like football or baseball. (And I'm in Europe where football means soccer -- which I don't watch either!)
Give me swimming events any day (all those beautifully sleekly muscled men in teeny weeny bathing suits. Now there's a sport I can support!).
