My Dad met Sean Connery in the airplane, they happened to sit next to eachother and they went of for a dinner. No kidding.

Oh and I know Die Aerzte, a german band, pretty famous there, and The Beatsteaks, also a quite famous Band from Germany, because they are good frinds with my cousin.

What else... hm. I kissed Marcel Reich-Ranicki on the cheek when I was like 3, its a famous german Critic for literature.

I know Carla Columna. Famous German fantasy figure. Also happens to be my best friend. But maybe its just the name they have in common=)

Yes, but not telling you, neither would any true friend of someone famous.

Most people who say they know someone normally talk about "my cousins best mates sister knows someone who knows xxx" Thats not knowing them is it.

Knowing them, is having thier number in your phone and them popping around for a drink, and being totally open with you. No real friend would risk that friendship by saying who they know and how.

So, the answers you'll get here will be many times removed from the famous person because they have nothing to loose by saying they know them, because they actually do not know them.

...now, i'll go back into the other answers and see if i was right.

...yep, though so.

By famous do you mean like extremely famous that everyone knows? If so then no...BUT I played baseball against a few guys who play in the MLB now. Cory Hart - RF for the Milwaukee Brewers and then Cameron Maybin - CF for a Detroit Tigers affiliate. Ppl in the baseball community know of them...

I know quite a few famous people - TV presenters, actors and a couple of premiership footballers. I know most of them because they are parents at my chidrens' schools. Also, my nephew's girlfriend is a very famous TV presenter. The funny thing is that, in the context that I meet them - sports days/fetes at the schools, parties and, in the case of my nephew's girlfriend, family do's - they are totally normal nice people and mostly very interesting to talk to. But then again, in these situations, people totally ignore their celebrity.

I was at university with Rob Webb & David Mitchell (from Peep Show and That Mitchell and Webb Look) - they seem to be getting pretty famous now! I don't see them that often any more, but sometimes still bump in to them through other mutal mates. Aren't they doing well!

My mom's third cousin is Loretta Lynn.
My uncle married a woman and her sister was once married to the late John Ritter.
That's as close to a famous person that I know personally.

I know a few famous business people, but just through my work, and I can't really put their names here because I may get sacked. But think of programs such as The Apprentice, Hell's Kitchen and The Dragons Den and you will know who I am talking about.

I don't know anyone famous. But I'm related to comedian John Blackman, Henry Lawson (famous poet), Robert Stephenson (Invented some steam engine thing, lol.) You may know most of those people if you live in Australia.

........................

I think its really interesting how people are some how connected to celebrities but we have to realise they are only human :)
