I love to be treated with courtesy and find it very attractive. A man should always escort his date home :)

No, it's not!
Chivalry is still existent in these modern times. It's just hard to find, though...
I have to be honest with you about the example you cited. You may not believe me, but gentlemen like me still practice that art. We don't believe that chivalry has to be extinct through time because we know that this trait is essential for building good and stable social relationships.

I think its dying, not totally dead yet. Some men feel the need to do it (my hubby included) but some don't. I can understand the argument against it tho, as some women would rather ***** at a guy for being a gentleman than let him hold a door open for her!

Sadly, chivalry is dead! Women has made it so by following Germaine Greer and her stupid ideals with the 'female eunuch' Men felt threatened, and naturally women moved away from their 'feminine side' They started wearing male type clothing and called it 'unisex' naturally men stopped being courteous,by not opening cab doors for them. They had 'lost' their femininity. Now women are working alongside men doing the same jobs, so men feel they can open their own bloody doors! And to hell with it! So you can really blame your 'sisters' for it! It's a shame, but there it is! lol.

Right now the best i can tell it is just us older guys that still like to look after the one we care about. These young guys they seem like they don't care but at the same time i think it is brought on by the women now. They don't seem like they demand the kind of respect that women from my generation and generations further back did. ( I am 44)

I think the younger men of today do not know how to treat a lady...when was last time you had a door opened for you , or a chair pushed in for you at table.......some of us still have manners. I think it is so important, manners cost nothing but still get you a long way

Yeah I think its dead - long dead and buried. I do think men should look after the women but they don't any more and I dont think women let them any more either. Just look at dating now. Who asks who and who pays the bill. That was never a problem in the 1950s
