As of my knowledge, there was no religious war before and recently after the collapse of suddam regime. But now, the Iraq seems like moving toward the civil war. The people are killing themselves and they are dividing their country. WHAT IS THE MAIN REASON THAT IS LEADING THIS COUNTRY TOWARD THIS DIRECTIONS?

As far as the world controllers , The Illuminati, are concerned, there is no crisis. Everything is going exactly to plan.

To Americanize the country and hopefully end up with a business partner. The GOP forgot to study the Iraqi culture and especially forgot that the Shias and Sunnis view Islam in different ways. Nation building take decades and centuries and George Walker Bush is negligent in this regard. He has good intentions, but did it in the wrong manner.

American values should not be pushed on other countries considering that in the past immigrants to America had their values squashed by the affluent white Americans of English descent.

The Republicans are ignorant that it has taken about two hundred years for the United States to become a great country, but the Democrats and Republicans are making to many laws. Parents are becoming irresponsible and those that are get punished in raising their children as they see fit. America is being controlled by religious fanatics.

It is a power struggle. If you go back to Clinton the same things were brewing. We can't blame Bush. This is part of a few men who think they control the world. I don't think it matters which party is in control, we would still be there.

It is about money and oil. We Americans drive and don't even slow up when prices went up. We don't want to drill for oil in our off shore waters. We don't want to tap in to our Alaska oil. There is oil all over the place that our environmentalists refuse to drill in our country,,,,,,,,,,but they are willing to buy oil from the middle east. So, every one who is against the war needs to stop driving. And find alternative fuel . We Americans are an arrogent people.

Our current president wants to steal their oil. This despite the fact that the price of oil has not increased. The President secretly knocked down the Trade Center Towers and manipulates all aspects of the economy.

This is an incredible feat for a stupid man.

It has more than one... First of all, the historic background, which is not so far in time, namely the end of the colonial system after the world wars.
Second, ethnic and religious differences in the region.
Third, the injustice and bullying from the West.
Fourth, the current troublemakers, such as terrorists and other greedy people.

Stability of world oil supply and to install democracy.
It won't work because that part of the world lives in the dark ages.
If we pull out, Iraq will become one, huge training camp for terrorists who want to kill any American they can.
I still think we should withdraw and put all our resources into stopping terrorism here at home.

To gain on influence in the entire Middle-East. To conquer and divide the Arab world because they are a threat to the US just as the Communists were in the Sixties.

Total underestimation of what the problems would be after Saddam was removed from power.
No gameplan at all.

cuz our president wants to steal their oil and they won't give it to us. plus, he is not man enough to admit he made a mistake. he thinks they have deadly weapons and he was wrong, so he's taking it out on our troops and our allies' troops (honestly, i would not be surprised if our allies finally stop being our allies after this pointless war is over).

also, i think this thing started when papa bush was president. he just wants to finish daddy's work.
