Question 1.

When the price of potatoes rose by 3c/kg, one kg less could be purchased with 60 cents. Find the original price per kg

I just can't get the answer.
It used to be so easy.
Plz help.

It's easy. It is a only simple high school algebra.

First let the original price be x. Then add 3 to x.
Second let the amount of potatoes that can be bought with price x be y

and do the maths: 60 cents can buy how many kilos for the price of x?
60/x = y
60 cents can buy how many kilos for the price of x+3?
60/(x+3) = y - 1

from now on it's very easy, you should be able to do it on your own.

I think the answer is 30 cents

Now 15c & buy 4kg
