I agree, we have been blessed by the Creator, we are the healers, the caretakers, the visionaries,
we are the artists, the poets, without us, the world would be a dull grey place

I don't know that I'd call it a "gift" per se.
Everyone has their personal cross to bear.
I know I am loved and that I am capable of love. I know I have been blessed in my life after 'coming out' and living an honest life. I know I have been blessed with a loving and supportive family, a wonderful and well adjusted son, a loyal and loving partner.
I know that none of this would have been possible without God's blessings. I am grateful everyday for these blessings and so many more.
But I am not so full of myself as to think being gay has ever been a "special gift." Simply part of my life that I needed to be honest about.

Absolutely! I consider being gay the best gift I was ever given.
I come from a family of fairly narrow minded, conservative, bigots (I love them but that's the truth) and can only imagine that I would have been the same if I hadn't encountered the challenge of growing up gay in that environment. By being forced to look at my own differences, I was able to look at others' differences in a more positive, grateful light. I really don't think I would have had that opportunity otherwise.

That reminds me of an old joke.
I wanted a Bicycle, I prayed for it night and day. I went to a church and they told me God doesn't work that way, so I stole one and then asked Him to forgive me.
I don't see homosexuality as being a special "gift", I simply see it as the way things are. I don't think it makes me any more or less special than anyone else. If the beach was filled with diamonds does that take away from the beauty of any one specific diamond? No. Each is beautiful and unique.

I don't really consider it a gift to be gay. I think we are created with many and various qualities, abilities, and uniquenesses (if that's a word! LOL!)! I also do not feel that the homophobes are jealous. How could anyone be jealous of being persecuted and run down? I think they are a very sad lot who are stuck in the rut of bigotry, close-mindedness, and misconceptions.

I don't agree with you.
I think homophobic people have huge issues, but I don't think jealousy is part of it.
Can I ask you a question as well? Why are you overcompensating like this? Why can't you just be happy with who you are without making yourself superior over others?

God gives special gifts to everybody. Some people choose to use it, and some people choose to ignore it, or hide it, or reject it. I think bigoted people are insecure, narrow-minded, and repressed. I think that whatever your gift is, you should look inside yourself, and use it. What good is any gift that you keep in the closet ?(pardon the play on words :)
And I'm glad you found somebody you enjoy being with. :)

The only thing I'd consider a "gift" is the ability to love others and accept those who are not like us... I don't think he made us gay as a gift, he made us gay to add a little spice to the mix, you know, add some diversity.

I think that everyone is equal, regardless of sexuality. I also think that Homophobes are wrong and stupid, but so are Heterophobes (the opposite). I am glad that you have so much faith in your God.

I don't particularly believe in God, as such...but I certainly do believe that I have a purpose and a right to be on this earth. I'm not certain if homophobes are jealous or just live in fear..but whatever it is...their views are not healthy.
