Some studies have reported that the sex can be determined as early as 11 weeks by ultrasound (u/s), but it depends on the quality of the image, the experience of the u/s technician, and the baby's cooperation. One study reported that sex determination at 11 weeks was 45% accurate, 75% accurate at 12 weeks, 90% accurate at 14 weeks, and 95% accurate at 16 weeks. At 20 weeks it is most reliable at 99%, but remember that it is never 100% until the baby is born (or you get genetic testing done with a chorionic villus sample)!
