I'm a vocalist/guitarist too.I get real jaded about the music scene(The way most metal players do).Most music today just sounds like a sample of what each respective genre could sound like if it wasn't about coin and laziness.
Will you accept three extreme metal bands?
ACID BATH(Greatest band EVER!)
Soilent green
Godflesh.
For a more conventional hard rock blues sound with alot of feeling, you may want to check out former Acid Bath vocalist
Dax Riggs new project DEADBOY AND THE ELEPHANTMEN.
Just like the white stripes(Not a bad band either),they are a male/female duo as well and they sound quite good indeed.

Slipknot, cradle of filth, disturbed.. Damn hell, these are good bands.. They are gothic yet still into rock.
