I think you should not think about making much finace at the initial stages of your marriage but you both will prosper well on joined planning for a bright future. This situation is not a problem for you or your fiancee. It is your parent's problem. And, it is up to them to come to terms with the fact that this is a cultural issue, not a purposeful slap in their face that your fiancee will not be taking their family name. I am so surprised that your parents, in this day and age, are so close minded on this very clear and simple subject of cultural ways in regard to names after marriage. I can see your frustration. However, the ball is really in your parent's court. THEY need to change the way they deal with this subject because quite frankly, they are in the wrong here. So, what do you do now? Tell them that you are disappointed in them that they do not respect your future wife's culture. That their bull headed approach is offensive and rather close minded. Let them know that this does not bother you because you love and respect your fiance. Let them know that their traditional ways end at the country's boarder and they cannot dictate what your future wife does in regard to following her culture and they have no right to do so. And, finally, let them know that this topic is no longer up for discussion because it is none of their business and if they wish to discuss this any longer, they can leave you out of the conversation because you are done discussing this matter and will ignore all future conversation on this subject. End of story. It is up to YOU to stop this ridiculous bantering back and forth. Refuse to talk about it any longer and let that be the end of it. If they ever push digs on you or her for her name, simply look them square in the eye, and smile, without comment.
