Get Firefox and when it asks you if it should be the default browser say yes.

You don't say what your email client is. but it sounds like it is set to plain text and not HTML. In Outlook Express, you would go to tools, then options and click the read tag. Then make sure the box that selects plain text only isn't ticked.

Are the links definitely hyperlinks, or just URLs within the text?

Yeah..mine too, but only Hotmail and only on FireFox..If I use Internet Explorer (which I NEVER use!) it works fine..do you use Firefox?
